the second one and the ones with the kind of purpley colours coming through are REALLY nice :tounge: your really good at photography !

in short with shallow depth of field... that would be low number F-stop on lenses... that blurriness is called "bokeh", something you usually dont see on point-and-shoot cameras... so when you focus something on picture, e.g. eye on portrait, with good lens that have nice f stop, say 1.4,1.5f, you have very shallow depth of field, meaning, that only eye will be in sharp focus and rest of image will be blurred... like hair bangs will be slightly blured, rest of hair even more and background will have amazing blured bokeh (add some lights in back there with nice lenses and you have that hexagonal/octogonal effect for sparks).
this is done so that you can "tell story" with your picture. that way you are bringing in focus subject of picture, while bluring everything else...
